Growing into Earth Stewardship

Becoming frustrated, angry and overwhelmed is a

common feeling for those who take seriously God’s

command to steward (care for) the earth. We must dig

deep into our faith to find strength to keep doing our part.

Our beautiful earth itself reminds us why we need to be

stewards and “heals” our angst when we get out and play

in nature. To remind us of our path to stewardship just

remember the word PLAY. P stands for prayer and praise

for this beautiful earth and for persistence to preserve her.

L stands for learning all we can about how ecosystems

work and to “listen”” to what is needed for a healthy earth.

The letter A stands for your actions and advocacy, and Y

stands for the “yield” we reap when we all work together

as Earth Stewards.
