Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence, KS, is seeking to hire two part-time nursery attendants to supervise and engage with our little people on Sunday mornings during the weekly 10:30 am service and on Wednesday evenings for our weekly evening service at 6pm. Nursery attendants will also assist in providing care for special services and events throughout the year.

At Trinity, we are blessed with a growing community of families with young children and are supported by an active group of volunteers. The nursery is available for children ages newborn through 4 years.

We’re seeking someone who finds joy working with little ones, is 18 years or older, and has experience working with infants, toddlers, and young children (babysitting or working in a formal childcare setting), for which they can provide references.

The nursery is well-appointed with much loved toys, a table area for snack time, stories, and arts & crafts time, an active play area, an area for toddlers, and a quiet room with changing table, etc. There is a dedicated bathroom inside the space with small facilities for the kids.

Going forward, we plan to re-start our Early Christian Education (ECA) Program. Our nursery attendants will coordinate and cooperate with the volunteer ECA leaders, who will provide a short ECA lesson and activity during the nursery session (lasting 20-30 minutes).

The nursery attendant position will offer hourly compensation at $16/hour. Regular hours are Sunday from 9:30 am -12:30 pm and Wednesdays from 6-8pm.

Candidates will be screened through a background check and will need to complete Safe Church Training conducted online through the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas and Praesidium, prior to starting.

During occasional service times and special events, care may be provided as the nursery attendants are available, including Holy Week, the Epiphany Party (Sunday evening closest to Epiphany) the Saturday evening before All Saints Day, and extended hours after service for the Annual Meeting (second or third Sunday afternoon in January).

If Wednesday evenings are of concern, please indicate this in your application and we can discuss this. Thank you for your interest in serving our youngest members and being an important part of our efforts to care for and support our families and little ones! Please find an application attached.
