Administration Dumps Endangerment Finding
Last week President Trump struck down the endangerment finding that has been the legal basis for the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate greenhouse gas emissions as being dangerous to the health and safety of the public and contributing to warming our planet. Trump has called climate change a “hoax” and climate scientists “stupid,” and he has said that extra carbon dioxide was good for trees. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said the economy would boom without regulations on fossil fuels and transportation. Climate exports expect a 10% increase in emissions over the next 30 years. However, 19 states are committed to reducing emissions; the Sierra Club, NRDC, Union of Concerned Scientists, Earth Justice and state of California are bringing legal action against elimination of the endangerment finding.
