Care of Creation Remains, as the Season Ends

Our worship together during this Season of Creation has

been filled with powerful images like the “Mighty wind of

God’s word” and God’s awesome creation of the “Little

Blue-Stem, the Monarch and Bald Eagle.” Hopefully, we

have taken time to enjoy nature and have learned new

facts about our fellow creatures. We have also been

reminded of our own responsibilities to care for the air,

land, water and oceans with our personal and corporate

actions (reducing plastics, reducing carbon footprints and

promoting alternative sources of energy).

We have repeated the response: “Merciful God, sustain

your planet and people in peace.” This Sunday we will

celebrate the life of St. Francis and his plea to bring

peace — between fellow creatures — including other

humans. Become a Creation Advocate and speak out for

just legislation. Donate to groups that promote creation

care.

Earth Steward Action: Bring your furry or feathered friend

to be blessed Sunday.
